It’s amazing what happens when you grow up. Kids become adults, and adults become parents! I, for one, have yet to transition from the first stage… and most people will say they skipped the second stage all together.
Needless to say, being preggo is an event in itself. Things happen. I wouldn’t know, but I’ve heard stories, and it’s kind of a big deal.
When I got a message from Carol in regards to a maternity/newborn shoot– I was ecstatic. 1– because having a baby is so exciting and 2– because Carol and Patrick are awesome! Carol and I have known each other since we were wee little kids running around the house screaming on the top of our lungs for no apparent reason. Our parents moved from Kansas to Atlanta together. Since we happened to be 2 of 8 Asian people in all of Cobb County… or “oriental” as they say in the South, it was nice having someone to relate to. We have a very special bond that you only have with folks that grow up knowing what your parents are like. I can’t explain it, but you know when you have that bond. I think it’s be because they know why you are the way you are.
But anyway—Just a few months ago, by the grace of the FaceBook Gods we reconnected and it’s been such an adventure– catching up on life and realizing that we never skipped a beat. So… cheers to gummy bears and making old friendships anew!
I’m still in the early stages of editing their shoot, but here are a couple images that I happen to LOVE…
