Sneak Peek! | Hutson is 6 months old! | Atlanta Portrait PhotographerFebruary 1st, 2012I can’t believe how quickly babies grow! It seems like just yesterday I was taking photos of baby who could barely hold his head up and keep his eyes open. Now he’s sitting up right, ever so attentive, and blissfully happy! Oh to be a baby again! Here’s a quick sneak of a peek! |

Art Walk is monthly occasion held by the small business owners of Marietta Square. The first Friday of Summer and Fall months— Artists are encouraged to display their craft.
Be Yoga kindly asked if I was interested— and I could not resist the opportunity to celebrate my craft among my peers, local artists, and craftsmen, especially since the square is seemingly my home away from home. On any given day, you can find me working at Cool Beans, working out Crossfit Square, grabbing a bite at Marietta Pizza Company or Thaicoon, or doing pilates at Be Yoga. With that said– I couldn’t find a more supportive environment to share my world and display my perspective on life.
To add an interactive element to the gallery, Adrianne and I (wo)manned the CrazyBooth.
Here are a few photos form the booth!
Thanks Be, for allowing me to share my images with the community, Adrianne for saving my life, and everyone for stopping by!!!!! It would not have been such a great success with out all of you!

I can honestly say, even though I am not a religious person so to speak.. that I am blessed with awesome photographer friends who are funky and like random things just as much as I do. Kristi Odom, one of my best friends and mentors, invited me on an adventure with Kristina and Ryan… on a camel farm?!!
That morning consisted of scattered, covered, and smothered… camel slobber… laughs… and stepping in 4 different types of animal feces. For all I know it could’ve been several variations considering there were about 20 different types of animals wandering around that farm.
Kristina & Ryan are fabulous in every way, shape, and form… and I am so fortunate to have the opportunity to work with Kristi for such a unique shoot!
Wedding Day photos to come!

Last January, I decided to expand my knowledge at WPPI which is one of the largest Photography conventions in the world. I was hoping to absorb as much information as possible— and I was successful! However, I didn’t realize what a great networking opportunity it was… I met the coolest photographers and have kept in touch with many ever since.
I can honestly say, the photography community can be very nurturing and/or very competitive and I was lucky to meet awesome, nurturing colleagues all over the US that share similar goals and aspirations. One of those photographers was Daniel McQuade who is from West Virginia.
While in Vegas he shared with a group of us his creative plan to propose to his girlfriend Lizzy, not knowing that I would be given the opportunity to spend the day with them around the state of West Virginia a few months later.
They are such a great couple and I enjoyed every waking moment with them!

Sneak Peek! | Ember- Boutique Yoga Studio | Atlanta Fitness PhotographerJune 24th, 2011I enjoy pretty things… And when I say pretty… I don’t necessarily mean girly or dainty– but I do like those things too. I enjoy pretty things… And when I say pretty… I don’t necessarily mean girly or dainty– but I do like those things too. I’m talking about aesthetics. Aesthetically pleasing concepts, aspects, design, textures. It feeds my brain because I am constantly analyzing my surroundings… As a photographer, I never shut my brain off. I purchase things, eat foods, and vouch for companies based on packaging, marketing, and branding. It’s sad. I am a shallow, shallow person… but that is what my career has trained me to do– find the pretty in everything.
As humans, we are driven by our senses. We enjoy eating, the smell of cookies, the sound of music (well personally… not the musical), the softness, … etc. But sometimes we neglect the sense that is undefinable by what is concrete. The sense of connection… feeling conscious and being aware of our emotions. Sometimes we can love or even hate something… so much, but we can’t pin down why. It makes us feel a certain way that our brains can’t quite wrap around.
Well.. this is what Ember does to me. I’m not sure if it’s the positive association I have with the owners, the instructors, the sense of accomplishment of challenging my mind and my body during a yoga class, or if it’s the over all experience and the nurturing of of all my senses… but I really enjoy being at the studio– when I can find the time.
A few weeks ago… and when I say weeks… I mean a couple of months ago I did a yoga shoot for the owner’s Jeff and Margaret and instructor Astrid. Here are a few from the day!
